Travel health

If you are travelling abroad you may need to be vaccinated. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss the vaccinations you will need, which will depend on where you are travelling.

From July 2023, we are recommencing our travel vaccination service for NHS travel vaccinations only. This will cover Typhoid, Hepatitis A, Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio.

Please request a travel questionnaire form at reception. Once the form has been completed, we will contact you to book an appointment with the Practice Nurse.

The Nurse will carry out a risk assessment and offer you the necessary advice. In order for your vaccinations to take effect, your appointment should be no less than 4 to 6 weeks prior to travel.

Some travel vaccines are ordered on a private prescription which cost more than the normal prescription charge. This is because not all travel vaccinations are included in the services provided by the NHS.
