Appointments

If you have symptoms of coronavirus such as high temperature, a new continuous cough or a loss of or change to your sense of smell or taste you should self-isolate at home and arrange a coronavirus test via the NHS website, www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test, or by calling 119.

Advice can be sought by telephoning the practice same day team in hours or NHS 111 out of hours.

During the coronavirus pandemic we at the Nelson Medical Practice have adapted the ways we are delivering care to our patients.

In line with national guidance, ALL appointment requests will now be triaged by a clinician. When booking an appointment, please provide our Patient Care Navigators with as much information as possible about the nature of your problem.

We have increased capacity for telephone and video consultations and doctors and nurses can book face to face appointments when needed.

These changes mean that we can keep all our patients and staff safe whilst continuing to provide the care you need.

Same Day and Routine Appointments available 08:00 – 18:30, Monday – Friday

We ask that patients do not come in to the practice to book an appointment and contact us via telephone on 020 3826 0826, the ‘Get Help Now’ tool on our website or  Sensely instead.

Patients can also use the ‘Get Help Now’ tool to request medication, referrals, test results, medical / insurance reports and any other general enquiries.

If you cannot use Sensely or resolve your problem online, please be assured that we are still here to help you. Please contact the practice on 020 3826 0826 for assistance.

Please note the Patient Access service for online bookings is currently suspended. However, patients can still use this service to view their test results, order medication and view their medical record.

Nurse Appointments

Please note that some nursing services are temporarily suspended. If you would like to see a member of our nursing team, please contact us on 020 3826 0826 to arrange an appointment.

Contraception and sexual health (including cervical smears)

There are a number of local clinics offering in hours and out of hours contraception and sexual health services. If you require general contraceptive advice or a prescription for a contraceptive pill and would prefer to speak with a clinician at our practice, please contact our Patient Care Navigators on 020 3826 0826 to discuss further.

If you require an appointment for a cervical smear please contact us on 020 3826 0826.

Community Pharmacy Appointments

We are participating in a new NHS approach to improve access for patients to GP appointments. The aim is to direct patients to the most appropriate healthcare professional, which may be a GP or a pharmacist.

From 14/12/2021 if your symptoms could be resolved by a booked consultation with the pharmacist instead of the GP, you may be given a same-day referral to a pharmacy of your choice.

Home Visits

Home visits are for housebound patients only. If you require a home visit please contact the practice on 020 3826 0826 before 11:00 (Monday – Friday) and provide one of our Patient Care Navigators all the necessary details to enable to doctor to assess your needs.

Please note, home visits are not for those who do not have transport.
