Please note that the Nelson Health Centre site is no longer booking people in for first doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. We’re making this change so health services offered at The Nelson can return to normal after the pandemic, enabling us to treat more patients.
If you are eligible to receive your vaccine, visit the NHS national booking website or call 119, where there are plenty of local options. Eligible patients will also receive invitations from their GP practices to book at the Wilson Hospital site.
If you had your first dose vaccination at The Nelson, we will be in touch inviting you to book your second dose. Alternatively, you can book at a different local site on the NHS national booking website the or by calling 119.
Q&A for practice staff to use if patients ask questions
Why can’t I book my Covid-19 vaccination at The Nelson Health Centre?
We are no longer booking people in for first doses because we need space so normal health services can resume on the site.
Where can I go instead?
For first doses you can book on the NHS website where you’ll find several local options including Centre Court, AFC Wimbledon and Hilton Pharmacy on Grand Drive. You can book at the Wilson hospital, when you receive an invitation from us. We also organise many pop-up clinics – keep an eye on Nextdoor and Twitter to find out more.
What if I had my first dose at The Nelson?
As we will continue offering second doses from The Nelson until August, we will contact you with details of how to book at The Nelson or The Wilson Hospital when it’s your turn. Alternatively, you can book your second dose on the NHS website.
Can I go to a walk-in for my second dose?
Second doses aren’t currently available at walk-in clinics – you need to book so we can make sure you receive the same vaccine as for your first dose.
